Play begins at Malibu Jack’s this evening at 7pm

NICHOLASVILLE, KY (July 13, 2021) – The PGA TOUR Barbasol Championship announced today it will host a caddie match-play miniature golf tournament this evening at Malibu Jack’s located at 2520 Nicholasville Road at 7pm.

Caddies will be treated to dinner and prizes will be awarded to the top three players. The tournament is part of a Caddie Enhancement Program to show appreciation to the Pros “best friends” and show visiting caddies the best of the Bluegrass.

“Caddies play such a critical role in the life of a professional golfer, and we’re blessed to have some of the very best in the world with us at the Barbasol Championship this week,” said volunteer Tournament Organizer Randy Maynard. “We appreciate all they do for the sport, and we’re excited to be able to add additional enhancements to their experience this week.”

Caddies are vital to a golfer who is not as familiar with the intricacies of a particular course as the caddie would be. Caddies have the luxury of taking more time and gathering more intelligence about everything from the ground conditions to the weather, essentially all the factors that can make a big difference between winning and missing out.

The best caddies also intimately understand the strengths and limitations of the golfer they support and can give the best advice on club selection and the best alternative way of aiming and placing the next shot.

Golf is a sport which requires exceptional motor skills and habits, but it also requires excellence in mental and psychological make-up. The best caddies are also very good at addressing the psychological challenges of tournament golf.
