NICHOLASVILLE, KY (September 20, 2021)

The Barbasol Championship’s 2021 Caddie127 Charity Golf Classic will be played Friday, October 15 at Champions at Keene Trace, located at 20 Avenue of Champions in Nicholasville. A VIP reception will be held Thursday evening at the Champions clubhouse where nearly $200,000 will be presented to local charities.

The tournament, now in its second year, is supported by several of the Barbasol Championship – PGA TOUR event sponsors, including Bluegrass Hospitality Group, Central Bank, Elliot & Studio 46, Lexus of Lexington, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and UK HealthCare. The golf tournament begins with a 12 p.m. start and spectators are welcome – admission is free to the public. Refreshments will be available for purchase and all guests are asked to practice social distancing.

The Caddie127 Charity Golf Classic began in 2020 when professional golf in the Bluegrass was put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. The tournament benefits local charities which include All God’s Children, First Tee – Greater Lexington, Kentucky Children’s Hospital, Kentucky Region of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Refuge for Women, Sunrise Children’s Services, and the Woodhill Community Center (Lexington Leadership Foundation).

To date, the Barbasol Championship has raised $420,000 for local non-profits that protect women and children in Kentucky.

“We’re thrilled to continue the momentum that began in July with the triumphant return of the Barbasol Championship which is now segueing into our second annual Caddie127 charity golf tournament,” said Bryan Pettigrew, Tournament Director of the Barbasol Championship. “The critical services and programs these organizations provide to those most in need, are a tremendous blessing to our community.”

Many of the activities that made the inaugural charity golf tournament widely talked about, will be brought back including: PGA TOUR golfers onsite to interact with local golfers; a Military

Appreciation hole that offers golfers a chance to shoot a golf ball from an AR-15 gun; local restaurants offering fall food tastings; and a professional trick shot golfer entertaining players on the long drive hole. Official charities will be on holes and driving awareness of their Kentucky activities, while raising additional funds.
